PURPOSE:To obtain the titled yarn having the feeling of natural fiber and a number of irregularities along the fiber axis, by attaching a polyalkylene glycol compound having a specific molecular weight to an undrawn polyester yarn, drawing the fiber in two stages under specific condition and carrying out shrinking heat-treatment of the fiber. CONSTITUTION:An undrawn polyester yarn is attached with >=2wt% polyalkylene glycol compound having a molecular weight of <=1,000, supplied to a drawing apparatus with a feed roller 1 having a nip roller and subjected to the first stage drawing between the feed roller 1 and a hot first drawing roller 2 under a condition satisfying the formula I (RY is yielding draw ratio of the undrawn yarn; R1 is first-stage draw ratio) and then to the second stage drawing between the first drawing roller 2 and a second drawing roller 3 under a condition satisfying the formula II (RN is natural draw ratio of the undrawn yarn; R2 is second-stage draw ratio). The objective polyester yarn is produced by carrying out the shrinking heat-treatment of the drawn yarn with a heat- treatment plate 6 at a shrinkage of >=10%. |
