Devices for connecting two or more support section segments placed one inside the other for the underground sliding support system, which devices essentially consist of clamping bolts and straps, are recovered as support material from abandoned roadways or roadways to be abandoned. In practice, it is very difficult to release the strap connections on support section segments under pressure, since the force of the clamping within the connected support section segments is often so great that the thread turns between the nuts and the hook bolts usually used tear during the releasing and the nuts are thrown off at high speed towards the personnel underneath and constitute an accident hazard. In order to substantially reduce this accident hazard and in order to avoid laborious and time-consuming work with withdrawal aids, it is proposed that the strap be formed from two strap halves, and that the connecting parts of the strap halves be frictionally and releasably connected to one another by at least one transversely running connecting element, preferably a screw bolt.
