Process for the flexibilisation of epoxy resins

The invention relates to a process for the flexibilisation of epoxy resins by addition of products of the reaction of castor oil with cyclic polycarboxylic anhydrides in a molar ratio of from 0.35 to 1 mol of anhydride groups per mol of hydroxyl groups. The modifiers have low viscosity, so that even the modified epoxy resins scarcely differ from their initial viscosity. The modified epoxy resins exhibit, inter alia, improved adhesion to polyvinyl chloride surfaces.
