A pressure-proof switchgear cabinet (10) or power distribution station is constructed with two side walls (18), a covering or base wall (14 or 16), a rear wall (10) and a front door (36), if necessary with an inner door (24). The front door can be locked by means of a locking device (46) at at least one point on the switchgear cabinet or the power distribution station. In order to prevent damage resulting from a severe increase in pressure caused by the effect of an arc (buckling), at least one strut (60) is attached to the rear wall (12), which strut projects as far as the front door (36), there being connected to the closing device (38, 40, 44, 46) means which ensure additional locking of the front door to the free end of the strut. <IMAGE>
