The invention relates to a process for shaping, punching and stacking articles made of thermoplastic film and an apparatus for carrying out the process. The articles are thermoformed by differential pressure with the aid of a mould, punched out in the apparatus and then transferred into a stacking magazine. The shaping, punching and, in particular, stacking should be performed in such a way that, at a high cycle rate, moulding with compressed air and, if appropriate, shaping with stretching aids is possible, without large masses having to be moved during each cycle. The expenditure on moulds and displacing device should be low. This is achieved by the articles being transferred after shaping and punching-out into a slide which can be moved over the actual mould perpendicularly to the ejecting direction, by the said slide being displaced until under stacking magazines arranged to the sides of the moulds and by these articles then being pushed into these stacking magazines. <IMAGE>
