The invention relates to a method for sorting conducting non-ferromagnetic mixtures which contain non-iron metals of different conductivity. The mixture (1) is fed via a feed (11) to a vertically arranged, rotatable magnet wheel cylinder (3) in such a way that an outer cylindrical current (2) flows downwards around the magnet wheel cylinder (3). The magnet wheel cylinder (3) bears magnet strips (5) on its circumference which extend along the circumference in the axial direction. The magnet strips (5) have an alternating polarity in the circumferential direction so that a magnetic field of alternating polarity is generated on the circumference of this magnet wheel cylinder (3). If the mixture with different non-iron metals (6, 7) is subjected to this rotating magnetic field when dropping, eddy current of influences arise which, in a rotating magnet wheel cylinder, bring about tangential and radial forces in the material to be separated and, depending on the frequency and excitation, lead to different deflections of these parts, the frequency required during a given excitation being generated, for example, by the angular speed and number of poles of the rotating magnet wheel cylinder. The separated non-iron metals (6 and 7) are caught in a container (12) which is arranged below the magnet wheel cylinder (3) and is composed of a cylindrical centre part and of one or more circular containers (10). <IMAGE> |
