The heat pump is distinguished by evaporator chamber means, compressor chamber means adjacent to this, compressor means for generating a higher pressure in the compressor chamber means, suction pipe means coupling together the compression chamber means and the evaporator chamber means, which pipe means are coupled to the compressor means in order to conduct the lower pressures or reduced pressures of the latter to the evaporator chamber means, by expansion chamber means in the evaporator chamber means, the former containing water which is directly cooled by evaporation at the lower pressure in order to form cooled water, by condenser chamber means which obtain the steam at the higher pressure of the compressor chamber means, and furthermore by water spray means for spraying water which cools the vapours in the condenser chamber means and is heated, and by water collecting means to collect the heated water after the spray process.
