PURPOSE:To obtain a multicored optical fiber connector which permits accurate butting by forming a photosensitive resin layer to serve as an arraying member which determines the positions of optical fibers on a substrate, and determining the grooves formed in the arraying member with the patterns of a photomask. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive resin 10 is coated on a substrate 14, and a photomask having prescribed patterns is superposed thereon and is exposed with UV rays. The nonexposed areas are removed, whereby an arraying member 10 made of a photosensitive rsin having plural grooves 11 for determining the positions of optical fibers, a lateral reference plane 12 and a butt face 13 is formed. Optical fibers 1 are set in the grooves 11 and a press plate 16 is put thereon to provide the surface 17 of the press plate to serve as an upper reference plane, whereby a multicored optical fiber connector is formed. Since the relative positions of the optical fibers are fixed with good accuracy by the photoprocess, the butting accuracy is easily obtained and the multicored optical fiber connector having excellent transmission characteristics is obtained. |
