PURPOSE:To decrease crosstalks and to improve recording density by setting the relative azimuth angles between the adjacent tracks of the plural recording tracks formed in parallel in the longitudinal direction of a magnetic recording tape in a 3-20 deg. range. CONSTITUTION:Plural recording tracks are formed in parallel with the longitudinal direction of a magnetic recording tape 1. In the figure, the direction of the gaps of a head for recording in the 1st, 3rd, 5th recording tracks 4a from above is inclined to the left as shown in the figure and the direction of the gap of the head for recording in the 2nd, 4th recording tracks 4b is inclined to the right as shown in the figure. The mutual azimuth angles are set at 3-20 deg.. Thus, the crosstalks between the adjacent tracks are decreased, the need for the gaps between the tracks is eliminated, and recording density is improved. |
