PURPOSE:To improve the yield of an alcohol from a raw material saccharide, by cultivating a bacterium capable of fermenting an alcohol and an immobilized yeast in one fermenting device of the fluidized bed type. CONSTITUTION:For example, a solution of waste molasses diluted by five times is fed through the pump 2 to the fermenting device 1 of the fluidized bed type, and the solution of waste molasses is circulated through the pump 4. In the fermenting device 1, a bacterium such as Zymomonas mobilis capable of fermenting an alcohol and alcohol yeast immobilized by including it with polyacrylamide, sodium alginate, etc. are cultivated under fluidizing conditions, and the solution of waste molasses is subjected to alcohol fermentation by the two, to improve the yield of alcohol. The fermented solution having finished fermentation is continuously taken out from the top of the fermenting device 1. |
