The invention deals with catalysts for oxidative coupling reactions of organic compounds. The catalysts comprise copper complexes of substituted amino pyridines. The substituted amino pyridines are optionally further substituted with a polymeric chain. The pyridines substituted by a polymeric chain may be immobilized by bonding them to inert solid particles, for instance, to silica particles.
