PURPOSE:To obtain information of high density by providing an information reading means for originals for the purpose of controlling the copying processes of a copying machine according to the information of the originals and a means for driving said means in the directions differing from the scanning direction in the stage of scanning. CONSTITUTION:An example of an exposure optical system unit of a copying machine provided with an information reader for originals is illustrated. Stands 11, 12 are normally held in the positions shown in the figure as home positions. When a copying switch is turned on, the stands 11, 12 move in an arrow A direction without lighting an exposure lamp 4, and a body 14 of the devices moves in the same direction as well. When any of read sensors 21, 22, 23 detects the beginning end of an original, a step motor begins to run forward/backward, and moves tables 19, 20 installed with the read sensors respectively forward and backward in arrows B(B'), C(C') directions between the central part and end part of the body 14. After the sensors 21, 22 move parallel respectively in arrow D, E directions, the sensors move like in the shapes of sawteeth like arrows D', D'', D''', E', E'', E''', whereby the original 2 is scanned. |
