PURPOSE:To thoroughly remove molten salt sticking to the surface of a wire rod treated under heating and to prevent the formation of scale by providing a wire rod conveying means obtd. by arranging rolls with different peripheral speeds and a plurality of spray tips. CONSTITUTION:The titled washing apparatus is composed of a conveying means C for a coiled wire rod 11 obtd. by alternately arranging conveying rolls 12, 13 with different peripheral speeds along the conveying direction and of a plurality of spray tips arranged over the means C and connected to the source of pressurized water. Using the apparatus, molten salt sticking to the surface of the wire rod 11 and subjected to heat treatment in a molten salt vessel is removed by washing in a short time, and the formation of scale by oxidation is prevented. |
