PURPOSE:To prevent the consumption and deterioration of a gas injection type electrode of specific construction by sticking of fine metallic particles thereon in the stage of producing the fine metallic particles by arc discharge by using said electrode and tilting an arc column. CONSTITUTION:In the stage of melting Fe, Ni, Co and the alloys thereof to fine powder by arc discharge, gaseous hydrogen or a gaseous mixture of gaseous hydrogen and an inert gas such as He and Ar is ejected with a pipe 4 from the clearance between an electrode 1 for electric discharge and a nozzle 3 around the same as an electrode for arc discharge, and a supporting frame 2 for the electrode is inclined to incline the arc column generated from the electrode 1 in a vertical direction. The consumption and deterioration of the electrode by sticking of the fine metallic powder thereon are prevented by the inclination of the arc column and the injection of the gaseous flow from the electrode. |
