PEDESTAL LINER FOR A RAILWAY VEHICLE

A liner to reduce the friction between the journal box and the pedestal leg of a railway wagon comprises a metal member of U-shaped cross-section having a bight and a pair of legs. Side antifriction pads are received by external recesses in the legs, whilst a base antifriction pad is received between a pair of pads bonded to the bight. The pads are pref. of plastics e.g. polyethylene and are reinforced by expanded metal grids. The pads are easily applied to and removed from the liner.
