PURPOSE:To enhance the wear resistance and durability of a magnetic layer by using polyurethane contg. a polycaprolactone-base polyol component as a component of a binder for the magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic coating material prepared by dispersing magnetic powder such as gamma-Fe2O3 powder in a binder consisting of polyurethane contg. a polycaprolactone-base polyol component, nitrocellulose and low mol.wt. polyisocyanate is applied to a substrate such as a polyester film to obtain a magnetic recording medium. |
