PURPOSE:To improve the scratch resistance and water permeability of an otpical disc substrate made of org. resins by using an allyl carbonate resin obtd. by casting as a disc substrate material. CONSTITUTION:A diethylene glycol bisallylcarbonate monomer, a UV absorber and diisopropyl peroxydicarbonate as a polymn. initiator are agitated and filtered, and the mixture is cast into glass type molds which are prepared beforehand. The cast mixture is heatd gradually in an atmospheric furnace to form a thin plate which is made into a disc substrate 1. An optical discusing the allyl resins for the disc material permits high density recording as high as 100 times that of magnetic discs, and lends itself to applications for image file systems of large capacity, document file systems of large capacity and computer memories. |
