PURPOSE:To obtain a battery excellent in high efficiency discharge characteristics, having smaller internal resistance, by setting up a positive electrode with those plates kept in either completely charged or discharged state and setting up a negative electrode with those plates one of which is kept in complelely discharged state and the other in completely charged state. CONSTITUTION:By sintering nickel powder ans stamping thus obtained plate into the shape of a base 1 impregnated with an active material to be held as it is and the shape of a lead terminal 2, a positive electrode plate and a negative one are produced, and each plate is formed in an aqueous solution of caustic potash. The positive plate 3 and one side 4 of the negative plate are kept in completely charged state, and the other side 5 of the negative plate is kept in completely discharged state. By laminating the plates via a separator 6 impregnated with an electrolytic solution, piling lead terminals coming from the plates of the same polarlity while folding them in the vertical direction of a group of plates, subjecting them to spot welding 7 in a body, and housing them in an electrolytic cell, a flat type battery lower in its internal resistance and having good capacitance balance is obtained. |
