PURPOSE:To both reduce ohmic resistance and prevent standing still of bubbles, by closely attaching an ion exchange film to an anode and cathode to decrease a distance between the cathode and the anode. CONSTITUTION:An ion exchange film is set between an anode 1 and cathode 3. Catalytic particles 5, 6 are fixed to the ion exchange film by binding agents 7, 7-1, 7-2, 7-3. Since an ion exchange film base body 7-4 is used with the same material as the binding agent, the mutually high affinity is provided never to cause exfoliation between the anode and cathode and the ion exchange film. The binding agent is selected in accordance with the ion exchange film in use. In case of using an ion exchange film used with, for instance, fluorin resin as a base body, a binding agent of fluorin system is used, while in case of using an ion exchange film used with polyethylene as the base body, a binding agent of polyethylene system is used. |
