PURPOSE:To detect a leaking spot at a connection of a line, by a method wherein a test line connection is covered with a T-pipe to form an enclosure space, while a vacuum exhaust device is coupled to a leak detector, and helium gas is pressurized and fed in the test line. CONSTITUTION:A T-pipe 7 comprises vinyl chloride, and is previously inserted through lines 91 and 92 before the line are connected together. Stoppers 81 and 82 are formed of rubber, and are previously inserted through the lines 91 and 92 before the lines are coupled together, and after a coupling is completed, the stoppers seal the opposite ends of the T-pipe 7. A central pipe 71 of the T-pipe 7 is joined to an exhaust device 3 through a vacuum exhaust system line 2 and linked to a helium detector 4. Helium gas is pressurized at a given pressure and is fed in the lines 91, 92 and a connecting spot 1 through a device 11 from a line 5 side. If a leak spot is present at the connecting spot 1, a part of helium gas is drawn by the exhaust device 3 and enters the leak detector 4 where it is detected. |
