PURPOSE:To improve the heat transfer efficiency of the heat exchanger by a method wherein a plurality of cylindrical members are arranged on the downstreem side of an air stream in parallel relationship with heat transfer pipes and in the direction of the stages of the heat exchanger. CONSTITUTION:The cylindrical members 5 are arranged in a zigzag fashion with respect to the heat transfer pipes 2 at positions on the downstreem side, and in the direction of the stages, of the heat exchanger. With the above structure, when a heat source fluid flowing through the heat transfer pipes 2 is caused to exchange heat with air, the air passing through the heat exchanger flows in the direction designated by the arrows. That is, the flow of the air behind each of the heat transfer pipes 2c of the third row is narrowed and the size of the dead water region 4c is made as small as the dead water region 4a of each of the heat transfer pipes of the second row so that the effective surface area of heat transfer increases. |
