PURPOSE:To apparently understand the deteriorated condition of engine oil by detecting both the values of properties, the index of deterioration of engine oil by with respect to both oils, used and fresh, which circulate inside the engine and by displaying a variation of the value of properties associated with the deterioration of the used oil on the criteria of that of the fresh oil. CONSTITUTION:Each of used and fresh oil sensors 12 and 13 which detect the dielectric constants of used and fresh oils is made up like a kind of capacitors, that is, made up by laminating a plurality of sheet-like electrodes with a certain interval so as to penetrate engine oil therebetween. An ac frequency generated by an oscillator 11 is applied to the sensors. A difference detecting circuit 14 which detects a difference between output values of those sensors 12 and 13 is provided, configurating a bridge circuit along with the sensors 12 and 13. An output of the detecting circuit 14, namely, an index of deteriorated engine is displayed on a display 15. The display 15 consists of an amplifier 16 and a displaying part 17 which shows a driver concrete quantity and digits indicating the degree of deterioration thereof. |
