PURPOSE:To hold a platen cover easily and surely while the cover is open by forming projecting parts which can be engaged and disengaged mutually when the platen cover is opened to the platen cover and a cover supporting part. CONSTITUTION:An arced notch 4 centering at a shaft 7 is formed in a cover detaining part 3 of a copying machine, and a sloped surface 5 that can be brought into contact with the root part 9 of a platen cover 8 so as not to oscillate at the angle larger than the opening angle of the platen cover when the cover is open is provided in front of said notch. A protrusion 6 is provided in one body to the notch 4. A projection 10 is provided in one body to said root part 9, and the distance r2 from the center of said shaft 7 up to the preceding end of the protrusion 10 is set slightly longer than the distance r1 from the center of the shaft 7 up to the preceding end of the protrusion 6. According to the above-mentioned constitution, the platen cover is held easily and surely while the cover is open. |
