PURPOSE:To obtain a light weight contact start and stop type head used for a magnetic disc device, in which adhesion hardly takes place even with the disc and a core slider in contact with each other for a long time, by adopting different curved-shape for the floating surface of a center rail and a side rail of the core slider. CONSTITUTION:A radius Ralpha is set to a suitable value taking a length L of the floating surface of side rails 5, 5', floating spacing and an angle of elevation to a disc 7 at floating into consideration and the shape of the curved-surface is set so that the side rails 5, 5' contact the disc 7 in the vicinity of the end of rails. a radius Rbeta is set similarly as the same as the said side rails 5, 5' and the shape of the curved surface is set so that the center rail 4 contacts the disc 7 in the vicinity of the beginning of the rail. The core slider 3 makes contact in the vicinity of the end of the side rails 5, 5' and the beginning of the center rail 4, in total three points, in the state close to point contact and the contact area is very smaller in comparison with the entire area of the floating surface. |
