PURPOSE:To obtain preferable picture display when a reproducer is not in a normal reproducing state, by providing a means detecting the presence/absence of a video signal at a reproduced output of a pickup means. CONSTITUTION:A reproduced signal is inputted to a detection circuit 20 for envelope or carrier of the reproducing signal from an amplifier 11. A video signal switching circuit 21 is changed over selectively depending on the output of a demodulation circuit 12 and a detection circuit 20. In scanning a recorded track, the output of the circuit 20 goes to 1 level and a switching 21 is activated so as to select the output of the circuit 12 and reproducing information from a disc 1 is displayed on a monitor television 13. When an information track is not recorded, the output of the circuit 20 goes to 0 level and the circuit 21 gives the video signal of a video signal generator 22 on the monitor television 13. Thus, no noise is displayed on the screen of the television 13. |
