PURPOSE:To provide a belt press type dehydrator which prevents leakage of sludge, etc. by constituting the same in such a way that the spacings between weir plates and a filter cloth belt can be changed according to the rate of supplying of the sludge passing between the weir plates and the filter cloth belt. CONSTITUTION:The sludge supplied onto a filter cloth belt 1 in front of a gravity dehydrating section is conveyed in the direction of an arrow 19, and is first passed under a rear baffle bracket 29, where the sludge is distributed in the transverse direction of the belt 1 by baffle plates 33a- and is passed as sludge ridge of penked shape 53a-. In the stage when the sludge raked like ridge passes under a weir plate 46, the sludge is crushed with the plate 46 to form a sludge layer of a specified thickness which is then ploughed over with the front baffle plates 33b- in succession thereto to expose the belt surface and to squeeze the sludge, whereby the moisture content of the sludge is decreased. Since the plates 46, 47 are held elastically turned and energized by spring plates 48, 49, the angles of inclination fluctuate according to the fluctuations in the atm. of the sludge even if said amt. fluctuates; therefore, the sludge is throughly dammed up and is prevented from overflowing. |
