PURPOSE:To obtain a vertical recording medium having a satisfactory orienting property and high reproduction output by forming a 3-layered structure consisting of Co-Cr, ''Permalloy '' and Co-Cr. CONSTITUTION:A thin Co-Cr alloy film is formed under a thin Permalloy film to improve the[111]orienting property of the Permalloy film. The DELTAtheta50 of the Co-Cr alloy film 10 formed directly on a PET or Al substrate 9 is <=5 deg.. Accordingly, the[111]orienting property of the Permalloy film 11 formed on the film 10 is extremely improved, so a thin Co-Cr alloy film 12 formed at the uppermost part has a much more satisfactory orienting property than a conventional thin Co-Cr alloy film on Permalloy and the thin Co-Cr alloy film formed directly on the substrate. |
