Mutant MWM-800208 (KFCC-10033) (I) of corynebacteria obtained by mutation treatment of bacteria being able to produce glutamine acid were sepd. and cultivated to give L-glutamine. Thus, bacteria I were cultivated in species culture ground of glucose 5, peptone 1, yeast ext. 1, NaCl 0.25, urea 0.3%, and biotin 30r/L at 30≦̸C, pH 7.0 for 24hr, which were fermented in culture ground of glucose 10, NH4Cl 3.5, (NH4)2-SO42, C.S.L. 0.5, meat juice 0.7 KHPO3, K2PO3,MgSO4, etc. at 30≦̸C for 72hr. I requires proline and alginine and has resistivity against streptomycin.
