<p>A heating resistance (3) is either incorporated in the material of the handgrip (1) or wound over the surface. The use of a low voltage electric supply, for example the motor-cycle battery, ensures that it is safe to touch the heating element. A series-connected switch (5) in the connecting leads from the battery (6) permits the motor cycle rider to control the operation of the heater. A thermostatic switch (3A) is also fitted in each handgrip to regulate the temperature to a comfortable level.</p> |
