PURPOSE:To improve the horizontal image resolution, by sampling and reading alternately the picture element output of a G filter and a black level electric signal at a period corresponding to a picture element. CONSTITUTION:Only G filters for the green G signals occupying the greater part of the luminance component are distributed checkerwise with evert 2nd element in both horizontal and vertical directions. The red R filters and blue B filters are provided among the G filters in a repetitive pattern respectively. For the signal given from a solid state image pickup element 1 containing above-mentioned filters, the picture element signals of R and B filters are sampled and held by sample holding circuits 5 and 6 respectively. While the black-level electric signal is fed to a sample holding circuit 2. The picture element signal of the G filter is sampled and held by a sample holding circuit 3, and since the circuit 2 is actuated with the same frequency with the G filter picture element signal and with a 180 deg. phase difference a coupled output G0 of circuits 2 and 3 alternates at a picture element period. As a result, only the band of signal G is increased to improve the horizontal image resolution for the luminance signal. |
