PURPOSE:To improve the degree of freedom in input-output units (I/O) constitution remarkably requring a common use sub-channel, by storing information for the mode of use and information designating the common sub-channel in each sub-channel. CONSTITUTION:I/Os (IOs) 112-114 having 10 numbers of 8016-8816 out of I/Os connected to a channel CH0(101) take a system constitution example using the sub-channel for the 8016 as a common sub-channel. Then, a bit representing the common sub-channel and an IO bumber representing the common address are preset to each sub-channel of the IO numbers 8016-8816. When the processing request to the IO number 8116 is given, a channel control section 107 sets a channel number (0) to a CH number register 109 and a number 8116 is set to a device address register 110 and references a sub-channel storage 108. The control section 107 set again the common address number 8016 to the register 110 and references the sub-channel used actually. |
