The tool which allows rational and rapid use of an abrasive strip (26) comprises a unit (10) in which there are hollowed out a chamber (22) forming a magazine for the new strip, and a chamber (24) in which the used strip will be wound up. During work, the strip is clamped between a plate (44) and the front face (18) of the unit, and it is stretched by acting on a tensioner associated with the winding pin (28). The unit is closed on the two sides which are plane and parallel by two removable plates, one (38) of which is fixed to the unit (10) by a single screw (40) with a large slot (42). The strip is pressed against an elastic layer (32) with which the support surface (20) is lined. <IMAGE>
