The method comprises various successive stages of treatment of leather garments. The said stages comprise manual cleaning of the leather, using a cotton cloth impregnated with distilled water or turpentine substitute; de-greasing, which takes place inside a drum with the addition of very fine ground cereals and liquid substances; a treatment for the renovation of the leather, by means of a jet of air under pressure having very fine solid granules in suspension. The said treatments are followed by those for the removal of the said powdered substances and for final re-dyeing of the leather by means of coloured solutions, with the addition of substances capable of ensuring the fixing of the colour in the leather.
