INSPECTING DEVICE FOR MAGNETIC CARD

PURPOSE:To reduce noises etc. in an inspection signal and to improve inspection accuracy by a device wherein an image of a scale is focused on an image sensor. CONSTITUTION:The lower edge of a magnetic card 10 is in slide contact with a fixed guide 20 and its upper edge is in slide contact with a movable guide 30. A measuring mechanism 40 to check a width W of the card 10 and stripe positions (L1 and L2) comprises an optical system such as an image pickup lens 41 and an optoelectric converting element such as an image sensor 42. An image including a magnetic stripe 11 and a balck-colored scale 32 formed on the part of the movable guide 30 extending toward the side of the magnetic stripe 11, is focused on the image sensor 42 through the optical system. The sensor 42 detects density distribution of one vertical scanning line for the image, and this density signal is fed to a computer.
