ANNEALING ADHESION INHIBITOR FOR COLD ROLLED STEEL PLATE

PURPOSE:To obtain an annealing adhesion inhibitor for cold rolled steel plates showing a stable adhesion inhibiting effect and exerting no unfavorable influence in a surface treating stage after annealing by preparing alumina sol contg. no inorg. anion as an aqueous soln. CONSTITUTION:Said alumina sol is prepared by peptizing inorg. alumina gel in water contg. a very small amount of an org. acid. The molar ratio between the org. acid radicals and Al is about 0.001-0.01, and the resulting alumina sol has about 4-6pH. In order to reduce contamination due to carbon formed by decomposition, about 1-3C lower fatty acid is suitably used as the org. acid. The alumina sol used as an annealing adhesion inhibitor of this invention is prepared as an aqueous soln. The inhibitor is applied to cold rolled steel plates at 100-2,000ppm, especially 300-1,000ppm alumina concn. The concn. is experimentally obtd.
