The present invention relates to a method and a device for producing the hot air necessary for a sauna bath in a sauna cabin by means of an electrically heatable storage stove. The invention is to provide a method and a device which make it possible to produce the hot air necessary for a sauna bath in a sauna cabin by means of an electrically heatable storage stove with reduced mains connection value. This is achieved in that, with regard to the method, a part of the quantity of heat necessary for the sauna bath is stored during a charging period in the storage stove before use of the sauna and is delivered as required to the sauna cabin during a discharging period, and the residual quantity of heat necessary for the sauna bath is produced by means of an electric additional heating system and is introduced into the sauna cabin. With regard to the device, the aim of the invention is achieved in that there is arranged, in a sauna cabin having a floor, a ceiling and walls, an electric additional heating system which can be switched on after the storage stove has been switched off after completion of its charging period and which is interlocked with the storage heating of the storage stove.
