In a window-lifter drive for motor vehicles, it is proposed to use a basic body (12) which accommodates a cable reel (18) and on which either a crank handle drive (14) or a motor drive (16) can be selectively mounted. For this, the housing (20) of the basic body (12) is designed on one housing side with a passage orifice (42) for a pinion (44) of the crank handle drive (14) and on the opposite side with a passage orifice (64) for an engaging-dog part (68) of the motor drive (16). Both the pinion (44) and the engaging-dog part (68) act directly on the cable reel (18). <IMAGE>
