PURPOSE:To enable the automatic measurement of the height of an arbitrary point of a surveying ship and thereby to enable the measurement of the height of the surface of the seabed at every set time, by attaching a projection angle controller to a laser beam projector on the shore, and by attaching an automatic beam-receiving device to a beam receiver on the surveying ship. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam projector 2 consisting of a laser beam projctor and a projection angle controller is set at a prescribed position on the shore so that the height of laser beam projection becomes H1 in relation to a reference level point 20, while a beam receiver 3 consisting of a beam-receiving board 4 and of an elevator vertically retainer and a direction controller for the beam-receiving board is installed at a prescribed position on a surveying ship 1. The height H2 above the beam-receiving board 4 of an element 5 which receives a laser beam is detected by a beam-receiving element height detector 6 and sent to an operator 7, while an output H3 of an elevation stroke detector 8 is sent to the operator 7. On the other hand, the height H4 between the base 9 of an elevator for the beam-receiving board and the lower surface of a transmitter-receiver 10 of a sonic depth finder 18, as well as the height H1, is inputted in the operator 7, an operation is made by using a depth value H5 between the lower surface of the transmitter-receiver 10 and the surface 11 of the seabed at every set time, and the height H from the surface 11 to the point 20 is thereby determined and indicated by an indicator 12. |
