PURPOSE:To make it possible to determine the flow rate of a pulverized body precisely and stably for a long time, by measuring the density of the flow of the body at two different points in the direction of conveyance thereof, and by determining the speed of the flow from the result of the measurement of the density thereof. CONSTITUTION:A conveyance pipe 40 for conveying pulverized coal pneumatically is constituted by short steel pipes 41 and 42 only in the part wherein coaxial conductors are provided. In part of the wall surface of these steel pipes 41 and 42, round holes 41a and 42a having diameters sufficiently smaller than those of the steel pipes 41 and 42 are opened, and small pipes 11a and 21a made of steel are fixed concentrically thereto. In these small pipes, control conductors 11b and 21b of copper wires and dielectric layers 11c and 21c are provided, forming probes 11 and 21 respectively. Directional couplers 12 and 22, connected to the probes 11 and 21 respectively, give microwaves to the probes 11 and 21, while giving signals from these probes to a detector such as a crystal diode. |
