PURPOSE:To measure a high water level precisely by a method wherein the entire range of measurement of a high liquid level is divided into a plurality of small ranges, and a pressure-resisting type precision hydraulic pressure gage generating an output electric signal for each small range is fixed at the lowest level of each range. CONSTITUTION:A schematic section of a dam whose highest water level is 50m from the ground surface is shown in the figure. Pressure-resisting type precision water pressure gages A-E are fixed at positions 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50m deep in water from the highest water level, respectively. The water pressure gages A-E each have a measuring range of 0-10m, and generate electric output signals SA, SB,...SE indicating water levels detected with a precision of 0.1%, respectively. Moreover, a wide-range water pressure gage F is fixed at the lowest level of the entire range of measurement, i.e. at a position 50m deep in water from the highest water level, and is employed for selection of the precision water pressure gages A-E, etc. |
