Snap hinge for pieces of furniture, especially for cupboards with glass doors retained by a wooden frame. In the door-fastening part of the hinge, designed as a mortised cup, is arranged a resiliently prestressed pivotable tongue (20) which, in interaction with a bearing face on the supporting-wall fastening part (12) of the hinge, forms the snap mechanism. Inside the mortised cup (10) is provided a pivoting lever (24) which is pivotable upwards into a position in which it holds the resiliently prestressed tongue (20) in the dead-centre position, there being provided a resilient element seeking to pivot the pivoting lever (24) into the upwardly pivoted position. The mortised cup (10) has a flat fastening flange (40) which can be fastened in a salient manner to the inner face of the door or frame and projects from the mortised cup on opposite sides and which is provided on the same side as the resting surface with an elongate depression (42). Arranged in the depression (42) is the spring prestressing the tongue (20) and taking the form of at least one elongate bar-shaped flexural spring (22) which is held at its ends in the fastening flange (40) and which is supported in its middle region on the tongue (20). <IMAGE>
