PURPOSE:To enable the highly-precise detection of an angle of inclination by a simple constitution wherein a liquid material generating an eddy current with the inclination of an axial line is enclosed in a cylindrical vessel. CONSTITUTION:When a detecting element 20 is placed on a horizontal plane 18, mercury 12 in a cylindrical vessel 10 is distributed uniformly along the axial line X of the vessel 10. When a high-frequency current flows through coils 14 and 16, magnetic flux thus generated acts on the mercury 12 to generate an eddy current. Thereby secondary magnetic flux is generated and the impedance of the coils is changed. Then, when the vessel 10 is inclined at a prescribed angle to the plane 18, the mercury 12 moves, and thereby the relative positional relations of it with the coils 14 and 16 are changed, whereby the impedance of each coil is changed. The balance of a bridge B in an electric circuit 30 is thereby lost, and the output thereof is subjected to phase detection through an amplifier 28 and a detector 32 and delivered as a signal SG indicating an angle of inclination. |
