Balance of very flat design

In the construction of very flat balances, two difficulties above all have to be overcome: the measuring method must be adapted to the flat design, and a flat device for the parallel guidance of the movable plate serving for receiving the outer weight must be constructed. The invention relates to a parallel guide of very flat design. A horizontally arranged lever system is used, and in this the contact points of the levers are located in a common horizontal plane with one another and with the surrounding area. It could be demonstrated theoretically in this case that the prevailing conditions are ideal, since the frictional forces have no effect on the measurement. The parallel guide can be coupled with any measuring methods for force measurement. It can be used on balances of any load-bearing capacity and size. It can be employed for any balances in the domestic sector and the commercial sector.
