PURPOSE:To omit the lap fusion between a metallic fastening band and a metallic shield band, which is used for shielding X-rays, by unifying the fastening band and the shield band together, and shaping the unified body into a frame- like member without forming any joint part between these bands. CONSTITUTION:The whole of a metallic fastening band 8 has a tapered part 9 in order to keep it away from the fused part 1a of a picture tube 1, and is unified with a metallic shield band 10 by pressing. Due to such a unifying press, the fastening belt 8 has no cut surfaces, and needs not to undergo any fusion. Since the fastening band 8 and the shield band 10 are unified together by means of the tapered part 9, there is no need to carry out fusion, and the work cost can be widely reduced. The fastening band 8, since it applies pressure homogeneously to the entire circumference of the picture tube 1, exhibits an excellent explosion-preventing effect, and improve the work efficiency. In addition, since the shield band 10 gives an effect of preventing the leakage of X-rays, such a cathode-ray tube is more excellent than the conventional one of a split type in terms of the appearance, work efficiency, the work cost and the explosion- preventing effect. |
