The invention relates to a device for the bearing of a drive unit arranged transversely to the direction of travel in the front end of a vehicle and essentially comprising a water-cooled reciprocating piston engine and a gearbox, which drive unit has two bearings arranged approximately at the height of the unit's centre of gravity and fore and aft of this in the direction of travel and with a radiator held in the forward area of the front end. In order to permit an optimum bearing even in the very confined space of the engine compartment of a vehicle of this type, it is proposed according to the invention that the bearing (7) lying in front of the unit's centre of gravity in the direction of travel be supported on the radiator (3) designed as carrier element. <IMAGE>
