Device for correcting the skew of a plate mounted on a plate-holding cylinder of a printing machine, especially an offset printing machine, this cylinder incorporating an inner longitudinal chamber opening radially onto the periphery of the cylinder via a slit into which can be inserted the folded ends of the plate, one of which is applied and retained round a bearing rim provided on one of the edges of the slit, whilst the other is engaged with a retaining means associated with members which, within the chamber, are provided for tensioning the plate, characterised in that the bearing rim can be adjusted angularly by means of a rigid wedge (42) of general prismatic shape, comprising a tapered portion (41) adjacent to the said edge of the slit (6) and two parallel faces (44, 46) engaged with sliding contact in a receptacle (28) adjacent to the chamber (11), in that these faces (44, 46) which define the plane in which the wedge (42) moves form an acute angle with a tangent to the cylinder at the level of the slit (6), and in that at least two threaded rods (82), which are spaced from one another and are screwed into complementary nuts (83) fixed in the cylinder body (2) and the geometrical axis of which passes through the slit (6) of the cylinder, are supported and guided by the adjusting wedge in such a way that by rotating the threaded rods from the slit it is possible to impart to the wedge sliding in its receptacle an inclination which directs the bearing rim along a desired oblique line in relation to the axis (ZZ) of the cylinder. |
