PURPOSE:To enable a correct original placing position on an original platen to be easily recognized, by indicating an effective copying area or its central position through calculation on an original platen changing in accordance with interrelation between selected paper size and magnification (m). CONSTITUTION:As calculating means, a microcomputer MC is used, selected size S of a copying paper and selected magnification (m) are fed as input conditions to MC, and the central position S/2m of effective copying area on an original platen 1 is calculated in accordance with these conditions. As a means for indicating the center, rows of LED's 28, 29 are arranged on the metal bands 24, 25 of a square ruler of the platen 1 along the length directions, 2 LED's are lighted corresponding to the central position S/2m, thus permitting an original to be placed on the platen 1 in accordance with these lights, accordingly, the image part to be copied to be correctly placed on the effective copying area on the platen 1. |
