The invention relates to a valve seat having a seating ring with a retaining web, which can be deformed in a bending manner, and a transverse web, which has a contact surface interacting with the blocking body, and at least one friction surface, facing away from the said contact surface, the retaining web being fixed on the main valve body, such that it can deform in a bending manner, limited by at least one retaining element attached thereto, and the friction surface interacting with a sliding surface which is arranged on the retaining element and is inclined relative to the sealing surface of the blocking body such that displacement of the friction surface in the direction towards the retaining web results in the contact surface being increasingly pressed on to the sealing surface of the blocking body.
