PURPOSE:To facilitate positioning of an original image and copying paper, by moving a lens in the direction rectangular to an optical scanning direction, and shifting the image to the center of the paper. CONSTITUTION:An optical scanning direction X is perpendicular to the paper face, and a direction Z rectangular to this direction is a vertical direction on the paper face. The side end of an original O is set to the standard of point P on the original O independent of size and magnification, and the side end of the copying paper is conveyed so as to accord it with the standard position Q of the surface of a drum 3. When magnification changes from m=1 to m, and such copying is done, a magnified image B is obtained, with each standard position P, Q not changed, by shifting a lens by distance delta along the optical axis and moving it by alpha in the lateral direction. But when width C of the paper is larger than the image B, an image of original width A can be shifted to the center of the paper by moving the lens further by correction amount alpha1 along the direction Z. |
