<p>A distributor for depositing liquid uniformly onto the surface of a rectangular plan filter bed comprises a framework (10) extending across the bed (11) transverse to two major parallel sides thereof, a liquid-fed duct extending along the framework, there being a supporting wheel (13) at each end of the framework adapted to run along fixed side tracks (14), a beam (15) extending from the framework part-way along its length, at right angles thereto, and carrying a further supporting wheel (17) driven by a motor (21), and which rides along a central fixed track (18), whereby the framework is driven along the bed in a straight line without any tendency for it to slew from its transverse disposition. There may be guide wheels (19) attached to the beam and riding along the side faces of the central track. <IMAGE></p> |
